Hi you... Let's talk about Cortisol! Woah... Wait, where are you going? Girl's and guy's of The United Federation of Free Powerful Beings Sometimes on Two Legs... Worry ye not as I'm not going to bore you with a lecture on biology and all things pretty much squishy and messy. I'm not Mr. Lecturer from Boring University... But - The Effect Of Cortisol On Cryptocurrency Traders? It's time we discuss...

But seriously heads-up and listen willing classmates... Cortisol is a hormone that the human body needs to exist. Yet it has been getting a bad rap lately, and for good reason, or reason's. It's a bit of a pesky little bugger at certain times, that can cause all kinds of problems for crypto traders like you and me.

You see the thing is, Cortisol is a hormone that's produced by the adrenal gland when you're under stress... in fact it is produced for many good reason's as I stated also, but stress does something different - And let's face it, crypto trading can be more than extremely stressful for many... I think we all go through it. For example: There's the fear of missing out (FOMO) on a hot investment, the stress of watching your portfolio value go up and down like a Yo-Yo, and the anxiety of the Crypto Market's and exteme volatility, like we have seen in 2023.

All of these factors can lead to high levels of Cortisol in your system, and that's where things can often start to get dangerous if you are not keeping an eye on the ball. You see, high levels of Cortisol can lead to all kinds of health problems, including weight gain, digestive issues, immune system suppression, and even death.

That's right, I said death. It may sound dramatic, but it's completely true, with many reported cases. Chronic stress and high levels of Cortisol can make you more susceptible to serious illnesses like heart disease, stroke, and cancer... And many other auto-immune issues.

Let's assess what can you do to keep your Cortisol levels in check? Well a pretty simple first thing you need to do is take a step back and breathe. Yes, breathe... And just pause to think about your health.

I know it sounds simple, but studies have shown that taking deep breaths can actually help to lower your Cortisol levels. So come on chums, get ready...  Take a deep breath in through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and then exhale slowly through your mouth. Repeat as necessary... Do not pass out silly...

But seriously taking deep breaths can only do so much. Sometimes you need to take more drastic measures to keep those naughty Cortisol levels in check... And that's where... Yup, meditation comes in.

Don't look at me like that... Aaand with that as usual - The 'I know what you're thinking' part is upon us... "Meditation? That sounds like something only hippies do." But come on associates on the Wheel of Life, trust me, meditation is the real deal... I am known to float off from time to time... No gutter mind not drugs... However some ADULT'S THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING, are using very mild natural recipe's I hear...

Studies have actually shown that through regular meditation can begin in helping to rewire your brain, making you more resilient to stress. And let's face it for crying out loud... being a Crypto Trader is one of the most stressful jobs out there.

You don't have to be a super-karma tofu yogi yoga master to benefit from these practices. Just try to take a few minutes each day to sit quietly, focus on your breath, and let go of your worries.

Another way to keep cortisol levels in check is through exercise. Exercise is not only good for your physical health, (sometimes with pizza I disagree) but it also helps very much to reduce stress and lower your cortisol levels.

And of course as a Foodie I know that a good diet plays a significant role in cortisol levels as well. You see.. eating a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean protein, and healthy fats can help to regulate your cortisol levels... I mean don't go stuffing yourself stupid and going Food Coma, then missing that deal... That is not the destination here.

But come on let's be honest in a world of factual disinformation - when you're knee-deep in the dark and dingy, sorry, bright and bountiful world of crypto trading, it can be real Flaming Cheese Whopper tough to make time for self-care and healthy habits. That's why it's important to find a balance between work and play... Then go from there... What's good for other's may not be good for you, so try different methods to find your personal benefit.

You should also try to make time to do the things you enjoy, like spending time with loved ones, pursuing a hobby, or simply getting outside and enjoying nature... A quiet country walk will do you a power of good, and can help you to focus.
