A while back I mentioned my early mid-life crisis, which then peaked when I got excited about paying a new pan.
But good things come with it as well.
Because of my mid-life crisis, I'm now investing in assets I didn't necessarily care about before, one of which is time.
Specifically, I'm now doing everything I can, anything within my means, to minimise the amount of time I need to go from A to B and if time can't be reduced, then I'm investing to make it better.
Here's an example, and I apologise in advance because I know it's going to look like a plug, I recently subscribed to Revolut Metal, and one of the perks is I can get to access a large number of airport lounges worldwide for just €24.
It's a flat fee, so that means I'm paying 24 whether the lounge cost 30 or 300.
And I travel a lot, partly because I live abroad and so I often go home to see my family, partly because I like it and I work remotely, and partly because of work.
This made a difference to me, because it means the inevitable 2-hour wait at the airport is now pleasant, not boring.
I rest, I eat well, I drink well, and I get on the plane relaxed.
This, to me, today, is important.
