For those of you who don't know my background I joined the WAX blockchain around Dec 2023 and I was pretty active on it for a good couple of years, then ended up taking a break - and i think it's time to get back into it now.

Over that period (2024-2026) I noticed small projects come and go which was pretty usual in WAX - there are all kinds of small time people having a go at creating stuff as it is so cheap to give it a go - but in 2026 some pretty major players crashed out and I am actually pretty impressed with the WAX Blockchain and its solidarity as the assets I had staked are not lost.

I will guide you on how you can recover your tokens in this article and I will likely make articles for recovering assets from other apps too - like Wombat Dungeon Master for example or NFTpanda WOF.

So I had around 300,000 Nefty staked in Nefty Blocks and currently this is valued at $40, but this is cause of it's value halving when the site closed down plus the value of WAX itself dropping  over the years.  The Staked Nefty would earn a percentage of rewards from secondary market NFT trades - so it was a good investment and earned quite some WAX over the time.

But now with the site closing down the whole tokens utility value has gone and my NEFTY was left Staked on their Site which is now gone! 

This is where the WAX Blockchain and smart contracts come in.

You see all of the actual blockchain transactions that Nefty Blocks would use are actually stored on the WAX Blockchain and their website actually just made calls to these contracts to make things happen on the blockchain.

If you open up a WAX Blockchain explorer and locate where the contracts for staking were stored all the data is still stored on the blockchain.

Here is the actual blockchain data of all the stakes on nefty and, if you were a staker, there you will find your wallet address.

What you then need to do is initiate Contract Actions - these are actual blockchain transactions that will allow changes to be made to the blockchain as the WAX account you use to sign the transaction has the permission to do it. 

In regards to your staking - your account is the one with the permission to do it! The transactions you signed on Nefty Blocks was your wallet signing these contract actions in the first place.

This is the action that Nefty Blocks created to allow a user to claim their Nefty rewards from Marketplace sale fees.

After signing the "unstake" action you will see an entry in this contract table showing that your unstake as been processed.

You need to wait 24 hours after this unstake and once you have waited 24 hours, you take the "refund_id" of your wallet's entry in the "usrrefund" contract table and run the claimtokuser contract action with your refund ID as the "refund_id" input - once you sign that transaction your tokens are back in your wallet.

These are all the original contract actions that the Nefty Blocks website was using and running under the hood for you, so all you had to do was click the buttons on the site, but now you can manually claim your built up rewards and also unstake and claim back your Nefty.

I am very impressed with this solidarity on the WAX Blockchain, the projects can come and go but despite the company disappearing and their website gone with no way of contracting them - you can still get your assets back on the blockchain itself.
