Ethereum is now allowing its user to build Dapps (decentralised application) which is linked with smart contract where no third parties like banking, law, political administration involved and its totally conflict free and secured.
Smart contract is basically a special transaction storing space based on ethereum blockchain where you can use it to build your own application .in simple word, smart contract is act like API's.
because of smart contract ,you can create you own coins or token which works mainly on the ethereum blockchain fundamental.
in order to run your app on smart contract there are following components you need you need to be familiar with:
1. Solidity : a programming language which is most important to develop your decentralised application on smart contract.
2.syntax : similar to java script which is designed for ethereum virtual machine
3. Geth: a command line interface for running full ethereum node programmed in Go ,Web3.js
