Disclaimer: I wanted to post an informative tutorial about how to join DeSo platform but ended up unable to use it. I will get back to this post in the last week of January, however I decided to post it incomplete and ask for your help below if you have already experienced the issues I mention.

What TF is DeSo and why should we care?
DeSo stands for Decentralized Social and it is an open-source blockchain based platform. You may read more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitClout
I am asked to sign up using one of the below methods
- MetaMask
- DeSo Seed Phrase

I chose google and moved on. You will get a seed phrase in the screen which you need to share at a safe place.
You can also choose the last option ‘sign up with Deso seed’ which seems easier and afterwards, I wondered why I did not pick it
As you continue, you will be asked to buy some $DeSo or, provide your telephone number.
I will provide a telephone number and continue
If you provide and authenticate your telephone number, you shall receive a small amount of DeSo
You will find yourself here https://signup.deso.com/profile where you get to claim your username and fill in all the necessary information.
I faced many issues with my username, and at the end I could not claim it yet. Not sure why.
There are many apps to choose from, one of them is the diamond (twitter like) app.
Some of them that I wanted to try out (such as the one that is supposed to be the ‘ decentralized Instagram’, are not available, and the user should join a waiting list.

As I tried to check out the diamond app, I received this message.
I was asked to complete my profile before posting, which I did
But what was really strange, was the fact that I was asked to fill in this strange section
I have to buy my own coin before lowering my founder reward (which needs to be lowered because no one will want to purchase mycoin?)
And then, after trying to update, I just received this error…!?
What will I do now?
For now, I decided to pause this.
I will get back at the last week of January.
For now, I would really appreciate your help.
