In case you missed my previous posts, I have started using Medium again for blogging and since December I have been accepted to their Partner Program.

In this post I will let you know more about how I achieved my first milestone there, the first 1000 followers and what else it means (for me) in numbers.

First of all, you may ask. Why medium?

I will respond. Why not and Medium?

I barely remember why I had signed up in the past, when I was trying many different things. (I was also a part of Whaleshares for a long time - remember??) and my first post there was published in 2019! It's subject? Real ppl on the blockchain and it was an interview of a hive user @thereikiforest :) and it was a tribute to the Women's Day. If you are curious, you may read it here It also mentioned @actifit and I am very happy to see how well this post aged. I only wish I had continued my project (Real Ppl in the blockchain)

The second post I ever wrote was one year after! In November 2020 - I wrote about .. guess what! LeoFinance and the Interview of Khal to Scott

It feels really great to see how well these posts of mine aged :)
Well, that was the last of my writing on Medium - until .. November 2022

So it took me 2 whole years to revisit it.

Its monthly visits are more than 100 million

It seems like a pretty good opportunity for an author to get their content seen, to get more connections, to learn more by reading more authors and why not, if possible monetized too?

First milestone, 100 followers

It took me approximately 2 weeks to reach 100 followers but there have been users who did it quicker than me!

Milestone of 1000 followers

I saw today that my followers were increased to 1000 - not an insignificant number.
Let's see the rest of the statistics that come with this number, but before that let me share with you

How do users monetize their content in medium?

If a users content is read by subscribed users (paying 5$ a month - or 50$ yearly as a subscription) that reading time counts and it is translated in $. Users also use referral link for subscriptions - and receive a small commission from the monthly or yearly subscriptions.

*And this reminds me of this post by Khal today and also a conversation we had with @hivehustlers where I informed them that @liketu already offers subscriptions!

I have seen users earning from a few dollars monthly, to hundred or thousands of dollars. All it takes is a few articles getting viral and they can earn substantial amounts every month.

There is so much I can talk about, but we will be getting off topic! So, let me know below if you have any questions and I will get back with more information about Medium.

And the last 30 days ... 1910 views, and 886 reads

And what about the earnings?

If we add the 0.70$ that I earned in December, there is a good 7$ profit :) And if we take of the 5$ subscription - there is a 2$ profit!

If we compare it to Publish0x stats, we see that in Publish0x I have made more than 5$ with almost 7.5K views

If you want to read my today's story there, you can visit this link but overall you should know that for me, to have 1000 followers - was very time consuming. I spent daily at least 1 hours reading and responding and writing!
I do not regret it, I think that there is great potential!

I also plan to write more about hive/leofinance/publish0x and all the experiences I have acquired by being a member here!

TL;DR

1000 followers and 7$ of profit later, I decide that I am continuing to use Medium, even though so far the earnings are 1/10 than what I am earning from blogging in hive.
I will also include it in my monthly social media earnings report!

I got the goal of earning 10$ at least monthly, so let's see if I can make it.
