Passport

Greece said no. Then Ireland. Then Latvia raised
a brow and turned away. You, who had held
three hundred million users, passport-spelled
your ambitions into one small country’s glazed
bureaucratic inbox. MiCA is a word
that means: prove it. Prove that you have changed.
Prove the old charges, the billions, the deranged
compliance years won’t follow you. Absurd
to think one island nation holds the key
to twenty-seven countries, one for all.
July is coming, ser. The wall is real.
You told us Europe mattered. We agree.
We watched you draft the statement, watched you fall
back on: we’re confident. We know the deal.
