We Trust in Our Wallets, We Get Lost in Our Emotions

“The market is wild, but most of our wounds are self-inflicted.”

Nowhere in crypto does one retain the privilege to call himself special until the market tells otherwise. We all go in there with a firm belief that we are all smarter than the average, fastest to catch the opportunity, and the best at reading the charts. Then comes reality-circumstances mark in the form of a long red candle that refuses to listen to our multitude of indicators.

The irony is that in a field that calls itself "decentralized," we still seek leaders to follow. One influencer shouts "BUY!" and the subsequent thumbs-up and orders come flowing in. One word of a whisper on "X" and millions change hands. We say we trust the code and math; yet come on, we still trust some random guy with a cat avatar and a username full of numbers.

But from behind, a great human drama adds up: greed when it's green, panic when it's a sea of red, and all the time saying, "this time it's different" before jumping into that same hole. We like to say we were too early on the project, but actually, we were just being too nice to someone else's dream.

But maybe that is the quintessence of crypto: A place where some logic, some emotion case, and a touch of illusion all meet. Here, whitepapers become law, and memecoins become life. We rejoice when we win, blame the market whenever we lose, and find the courage to try again because something about it remains an addiction for us.

So don't be shocked if your crypto wallet is safe but your heart is broken. The greater losses in crypto usually not in numbers but happen mostly in your head. And that's the game we choose for ourselves.
