Mining on Rasberry Pi 3 Model B (you really shouldn't)

I have a Rasberry Pi 3 Model B, and I wondered, what if I tried to do some CPU mining? Of course, I wasn't expecting any dramatic hashrates, but I wondered if it is profitable - i.e. you earn more from mining than you pay for electricity, even just 1cent.

The Experiment

I ran XMRig on a Rasberry Pi Model B mining BTT on unMineable (referral code 5h2h-g9ju if you want to get 0.5% return). Here is the summary of my result:

Max hashrate: 12.41 H/s
Power consumption: 3.7W
Earnings per month: $0.0155
Electricity cost per month: $0.30

Net Loss of $0.29 a month

Conclusion

Unexpectedly, mining on a Rasberry Pi is not profitable - you will lose about $0.29 a month doing so.
