The myth of Bitcoin as a “safe haven” investment has ended

By Jumble | Jumble | 13 Mar 2020

One property of Bitcoin is as a store of value. Bitcoin has been thought of as a safe haven investment. And that it is equivalent to cash and gold and would keep its value after a market decrease. In a poll done by Matti Greenspan, 60.8% voted for Bitcoin as a safe haven. But Bitcoin has not kept its value during the last two days.

The table below shows the two-day price change for different asset classes. Note: this price data was the closing price listed at finance.yahoo.com.

Since this is known, it is necessary to reexamine that thought that Bitcoin is a safe haven investment.
