DigiByte - What Does the Future Hold?

Is this the End of DigiByte?

I wrote a quick review last week on my thoughts about DGB. Over 3800 views for that post already passed by, but a few readers felt I didn't talk about DGB deeply enough or touch on providing more in-depth information, especially since the departure of Jared Tate.

I didn't do a full review because honestly, I didn't see the need to and still don't!!

  • Digibyte is exactly as I said it was, a rock-solid project that doesn't really need help pulling in investors or gaining momentum. It has great potential, even with it hitting what some think of as a huge problem with Jared leaving, it is still a very attractive investment.

To Jared or not to Jared, that is the Question.

I took a look into Digibyte many moons ago and my first impressions are still my impressions now. DGB is a very promising and well built project with plenty of potential and great possibilities

As we know DigiByte was created in 2013 by DigiByte founder Jared Tate and released to the masses in 2014. From then to now, DGB has been on a mission to bring decentralization and transparency back into plain sight. With his departure or break, some big questions have arose. The fear is, will this kill DGB?

With deep roots come big fruits and that is how I view DGB's future ahead. With or without Jared.

The time frame of Digibyte's birth to present made a difference for me about the expected longevity and future of this project, even after his announcement. After all, looking at it's growth, both in value and community, one can conclude that DigiByte has a very strong future as a leading currency.

Even though Jared Tate has stepped away from the project. Stating the following on Twitter...Jared Tate's departure isn't really a hindering issue. The community will continue to strive ahead and quite possibly keep Digibyte flourishing. There is STILL great leadership behind DGB who will still be working to improve DGB and quite possibly take it to another level.

The DGB community is everywhere and Digibyte has a very strong "Citizenship".

On every social media outlet available, from Twitter to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, MySpace, Pintrest, to Youtube and more, you can find a very active community hard at work pushing DGB.

I can use that word citizenship, because there are countless individuals out there, every day, taking it upon themselves to promote DGB. Which of course, is a very important piece of information to take note of. This adds to the bottom line when it comes to the potential future value of DGB or any coin for that matter.

Marketing for DGB is basically done for itself, especially when you have so many voluntary participants (The DGB Community) helping drive a project forward.

  • When a community is self-engaged in active support of a project, especially at the massive levels displayed by DGB's online community, you should pay attention, because this adds to the security, value and longevity of DigiByte.

Another strong point that people tend to ignore is that DGB is it's own coin. It isn't just some randomly released Ethereum based token or some poorly built currency with room for fraud or abuse. Many aspects about DGB are geared towards security and infrastructure and that is a very strong selling point when looking at a project's future longevity.

Thats great and all but what will happen to Digibyte?

Jared leaving isn't going to kill DGB. In fact, this move could very well give DGB some fresh air, some room to breath and time to catch up.

Jared gave DGB all he had and fought very hard for DGB. He pointed out and fought the corruption and greed behind large exchanges and the now faltering foundation of what crypto was built upon. (Freedom not Greed) That said, there is still a need to compromise and assimilate to an extent in order for a currency to reach it's full potential and maturity. Especially in this day and age.

Unfortunately, Jared did somewhat hinder that from happening and in no way am I saying Jared failed to lead DGB or keep it from becoming a great currency, but fighting the powers that be while trying to reach the masses through those same powers, while representing a project and duking it out with the leading exchanges did not help Digibyte reach it's full potential. Whew, long sentence.

I have no insider information, other than words anyone can find in the replies to his announcement from his remaining team, one can easily conclude that DGB might have a fresh start for itself coming over the horizon.

If the now current leadership can turn the Blue and White of Digibyte around and give a new face to the leadership and possibly mend a few bridges burnt down over the last couple of years, DigiByte undoubtedly has a bright future. If the current leadership only trudges through on the same path and doesn't make some needed adjustments, then we might just see it become stagnant.

I have faith though that this won't happen. DigiByte is going to be fine. The community and new leadership should pull this off easily. We've seen many currencies fail after it's creator drops out, but DGB's roots and future are all too deeply rooted and infused with the Crypto world. This isn't a currency in it's infancy, this is an old GOAT full of potential and possibilities.
