The Abyss
I close my eyes and feel the beast Trapped and suppressed, he struggles within me Trying to break free from the chains of sanity He whispers words leading me to lunacy
I close my eyes to see myself Standing before my unfamiliar self Ragged and raged, mad and crazed A sight of an errant
Seeing its eyes, I turned no rue A raging pursuit of liberty, With one forsaken will I turned once more to give it a smug look
From whence he came, a wonder A creation of my abyss, mirror of my ego Something that I cannot deny Perhaps, he is truly me
The darkness within was nothing of me An image created by a glimpse in the abyss If ever you turn and decide to peek Always remember not take a wink
