Songs That Make Us Feel Better

By DrMind | It’s never too late... | 13 Apr 2020

In my last post I mentioned my wife leaving. It’s a time to find myself again. To realize what makes me, me.

Music is important to me and I’m sure most other people too. Everyone has those songs that when you hear it, you become alive!

I mostly listen to classic rock. Even though I am 35, I have an old soul that has an ear for those 60s songs. If you know the era, you probably feel how I feel, that the best music came from the 60s. The music bleeds some into the 70s but for the most part, the most influential music came from around 65-69.

There was so much going on politically and people felt like they had a voice and it needed to be heard.

What music makes you feel alive? What does that say about who you are?

I still enjoy a variety of music. The 90s as well was a great period in music. The rap explosion took over the east and west coasts. The real ness of the struggle was put into words so vividly by rappers like Biggie and 2pac.

The grunge scene also depicted the struggle of life in a different form. Nirvana came on to the scene and another superstar in Kurt Cobain was born and torn apart.

My taste in music is like my mind, all over the place. I enjoy it all at different times. We all go thru swings in our emotions and the music reflects that.

“Most people think when the world gets itself together, we'll all be okay. I don't see that situation arriving. I think one by one, we all free ourselves from the chains we have chained ourselves to. But I don't think that suddenly some magic happens and the whole lot of us will all be liberated in one throw.
