Privileged

Privileged

By DrMind | It’s never too late... | 24 Mar 2021

If you are reading this and on this platform, you have a privilege that others do not. We have some internet connection and therefore have all sorts of information available to us.
The word privilege has gotten a bad wrap lately, especially when the word “white” gets out before the word. As if we are supposed to feel guilty for having been born into a positive situation instead of being born in the poor ghettos with not much available.
It is a form of virtue signaling and tries to bring the successful individual down to the level of those that are not capable of success for what ever reason. Some are credible reasons but most are just excuses. Instead of attempting to rise to higher levels, it is just easier to stay where you are, because that is what you know.
I count my blessings everyday that I woke up in this place. That my parents and grandparents and so on did what they did. I am not to familiar with my background, how lever I do know many relatives were Polish and there were millions of Polish Jews executed in the Holocaust.
50-100 years ago my family was hardly what you would call privileged. That is how fast things change. Within a generation or two you could go from rags to riches in a sense. Then get called privileged. History is not people’s strong point and neither are facts. Maybe there are too many “facts” on the internet or maybe we are just not looking hard enough or in the right places.
Back in my days, when you complained about others having things that you did not, it was called “Playa Hatin”. We got enough of that in this world for silly reasons such as the color of someone’s skin and so on. I know most of us here are pretty humble and we do not experience some of these hateful emotions.
Let’s continue to spread the love and have it wear off on others. ❤️
