My grand-father frequently went to Atlantic City and when asked how he did, he always said “broke even”.
Now after awhile, you kind of got the idea that grandpa lost money. Just a hunch but it seemed like he wasn’t a happy guy. He lived in a broken down house with my grandmother in a not so great town.
My uncle also had a gambling problem, my best friends, even a teacher of mine, gambling problems. I’ve seen people throughout my life gambling.
Now this is all gambling with money. If these people took any risks in life like they did with their money, their lives would have been more successful.
Now why do we take chances with our money but never seem to take the chances in life? We take chances to get more money but to get more out of life, we fail to do so.
Atleast they had the willingness to put something on the line. To go against the odds and feel alive! They had the gamble in them but it was directed in the wrong way.
