Tiramisù: a sweet of the Italian tradition

By Robertoit | Songs and art from Italy | 10 Jun 2020

Tiramisu is a classic Italian no-bake dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and incredible cream

The word Tiramisu means “pull me up,” which is very appropriate because one bite will put you in a good mood!
Tiramisu sweet has 2 main layers: sponge cake ladyfingers soaked in coffee and the cream layer.

Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks (very fresh)
  • 70gr white sugar
  • 400gr savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers)
  • 300gr mascarpone cheese
  • 200gr whipped cream (not in the original recipe but the cream layer will be more tasty)
  • cups of coffee (the quantity to soak the biscuits)

Directions

  • in a bowl put the mascarpone cheese and mash it with a fork, add the sugar and the fresh egg yolks. Mix well to obtain a creamy sauce
  • immediately after, gently add the whipped cream using a spoon
  • in a saucepan place a layer of savoiardi biscuits soaked in coffee
  • cover the layer with a layer of cream
  • a new layer of soaked savoiardi biscuits
  • ends with a new layer of cream sprinkled with cocoa powder

A very simple dessert to prepare, with supreme goodness
