THE SPARROWS-2
"So, it looks like you have information that I need" Peter sits behind his desk.
"She does sir, and you might not like all of it" Martin takes a seat alongside Sanjana. She starts to speak
"I was working as an officer under Colonel, we called him Sparrow. When the news of the outbreak came out, the colonel was asked to take his men and defend the Banglore city from the creatures. We had specific orders to take in survivors and set up a shelter. But he disobeyed those orders. He told us that it will be in our best interest to hold our ground. None of us were exposed to outside for 30 days and hence none of us were infected. We fenced off a large area. We maintained radio silence. In a week almost all of the chain of command were gone, either turned or MIA."
"How many men does he have? What about weapons"
"550 trained soldiers, he opened gates for survivors once things settled, he trained them. I don't know the correct strength, sir."
"Martin, how did we find her?"
" Sir our men found her during a supply run, starving, she was out of ammo. She came out of quarantine this morning"
" Sanjana, why did you leave him?"
"I didn't sir, I was on a mission along with 9 others. They didn't make it, our vehicle malfunctioned, when others turned I was stranded alone"
"What was your mission here?"
"ahh.." she hesitates.
"Your former boss left you to die, we saved you. And he has now threatened to attack this facility. There are no countries, borders, and laws. You are under no oath. Tell me, none of us wants bloodshed"
"We were tasked to scout an Army weapon depot not so far from here, but we never made it there"
"Martin, get the supply runners on the radio, I want them here at the earliest. Tell them conditions are no longer safe"
Martin runs out of the room
"what happened?"
"My men were at the depot, and I believe Colonel might have taken them in custody"
"Sir, I didn't know, I am sorry...."
Martin rushes in along with two other men
"Sir, its radio silence, tracker indicates they never left the compound"
Another man opens the door,
"Sir he is on line 2"
"who?"
"Colonel sir.."
