As per the announcement by Pi Network's Lead Developer Nicolas Kokkalis the users of Pi Network are being asked to correct their full name within the application if they wish to be able to claim the tokens they've accumulated through the app once the mainnet launches.
- Further to the need of providing the full name there will be a need of going through Know Your Customer (KYC) procedure once mainnet launches with the explanation by Nicolas in the announcement this is planned so that fake accounts won't be hoarding and/or selling the Pi Network tokens.
- Notably the announcement states that you have only three days to take action and amend the First Name & Last Name according to how it is displayed in the documents (such as Passport or Driving License) which you would be asked to provide in the future if you wish to be verified and claim the tokens.
- Perhaps this news comes with a bit disappointment to some who would've assumed they would be able to claim the tokens more anonymously, with my personal assumption that the tokens would be claimable after Phone Verification and the full KYC procedure would apply only for Node Operators.
