STEEM's Place in the Cryptocurrency World
STEEM is a cryptocurrency that is near to my heart. I have been a Steemian for 2-years and counting and use the website daily through the eSteem app.
STEEM's strengths are its 3-second block times, large dApp ecosystem and well-known Steemit platform. STEEM currently retails for $0.12 and is rated as the 78th largest cryptocurrency by marketcap on Coinmarketcap.
Where does STEEM fit in the cryptocurrency world? It has excellent support from the development community, a track record of 3-years as a cryptocurrency in the top 100 by marketcap on Coinmarketcap, and has caught the attention of the Chinese government on their list of investible cryptocurrencies.
Smart Media Tokens have soft-launched and are being tested. A hit app called APPICs in being tested that is functionally similar to Instagram and Steem Engine has opened the door to niche "tribes" that support new Steemit front end sites dedicated to community.
STEEM is a relevant, vibrant and important part of the cryptocurrency ecosystem and market. It has many fans, a great Graphene supported blockchain technology and great things ahead with niche tribes and Smart Media Tokens. STEEM has been the potential takeover target of Tron's Justin Sun, and is still a relevant and valuable cryptocurrency in 2020.
STEEM supports games including Splinterlands (STEEM Monsters), Drugwars and Next Colony. Splinterlands is supported by both Tron and STEEM, and represents a major partnership between both blockchains.
