The developers announced the closure of the application with the functionality of sending small amounts in bitcoin on social networks and messengers at the end of last year shortly before the entry into force of the Fifth EU Anti-Money Laundering Directive (5AMLD EU).
In the last six months, Block Matrix startup behind Pay Pay has successfully undergone a restructuring, becoming part of the innovative hub of the British Financial Supervision Authority (FCA). The project website states that customer funds are stored in segregated accounts and protected in digital vaults.
Now the company is compiling a list of participants in closed beta testing of the new application. To date, their number has reached 1065.
