The developers of the blockchain RPG game Neon District announced the transition of the project to the Matic Network. The reason for this was the change in the activities of the previous partner - Loom.
In early May, Loom Network, a previous partner of the Blockade Games project, announced a change of direction from blockchain games to corporate solutions.
The Neon District will now be launched with the second level Matic scalability solution Ethereum. Blockade Games will also move several other games to the new network.
They planned to launch the Neon District at the beginning of 2019, but the developers constantly postponed the deadlines. It is expected that a full launch will take place no earlier than 2021, but test versions of the game may appear in the third and fourth quarters of this year.
The game is a role-playing strategy-dystopia, where players have to fight with an authoritarian government. One of the main features of the game is the use of non-interchangeable tokens (NFT) as equipment for characters. Each of these tokens can be sold through a special marketplace in the Matic network.
Recall that in early June, the media leaked information about the game developed by the Pentagon. In it, participants in a hypothetical uprising use bitcoin as part of the fight against the state.
