I am sure there will be a lot of articles on the tipping changes that went into affect. I have my thoughts as anyone would, but, this is not about that, exactly.
I always wondered how many people tipped more than 20% and how many just moved the tipping bar all the way over every time.
My first thought was that every one tipped the minimum and took the rest for themselves, but, after mentioning this in a post, I was assured by many people that this was not the case. That people tipped according to the quality of the writing. Well, after just one article on the new tipping scale, I can say that does not appear to be the case. I could be wrong, my article may have been only half as well written and everyone docked me for that, but, I would bet that is not the case. The tips dropped to almost exactly half on my new post compared to previous posts. Nothing changed about the time I put into writing it, or the quality of it, that I am aware of. Just that readers appear to tip the minimum for the most part.
Don't beat me up in the comments, or do, this is just an observation, though. Nothing about whether this is good or bad for the site.
