Here are some tips for writing UX copy for slow networks and offline:
- Provide feedback to users: Let your users know what is happening and when to expect results.
- Be specific and actionable: Tell your users exactly what you want them to do.
- Write creative and fun mock content for offline mode: Show mock content to your users to consume in the offline mode while they wait for the internet to reconnect.
- Write and onboard users on new product features: introduce new product features relevant to the context in the offline mode.
- Use simple language that is easy to read and understand.
Here are some tips for designing mobile apps for slow networks and offline:
- Use a progressive web app (PWA) framework. PWAs are designed to work even on unreliable networks or offline. Progressive web apps offer the best user experience (UX) and boost customer conversions.
- Cache static resources. This will allow your app to load quickly even on a slow network.
- Use asynchronous loading. This will allow your app to start loading even before it has all of the data it needs.
- Design your app for offline use. This means providing your users with essential features and functionality even when they don't have an internet connection.
