Mobile Mining in 2020

By INAM_ | INAM | 13 Apr 2020

So you have a phone (or phones) and want to get some cryptocurrencies from it?

First of all there are two types of Mobile Minings. Cloud mining and Hardware mining. You might not think of doing hardware mining but that's fine as there are also Cloud Mining Apps. So here is my list:

Hardware mining app:

First let's have a look at these mining apps that I have tested and until now they atleast look legit:

1- WebChain Miner:

WebChain is a new crypto and I think it has atleast some potential to grow in future because it can be mined with a CPU and is not just ASIC but also GPU resistant. This means you can easily mine it on your phone. In fact I got 100 h/s on my Huawie P30 Lite which is a budget phone.

Other than that. WebChain has also partnered with CoinIMP through which websites can be monetized with mining. However, not too many websites can be monetized using this strategy because users for some reason do not like coins mining on their machine, even if max CPU usage is set to 10%. This is my opinion based on stuff that I have previously read and my faucet on which there was option to use miner (Although I at that time did not rewarded users for their contribution).

WebChain has been renamed to MintMe. But there is some confusion (at least for me) about WebChain and MintMe because the wallet I downloaded on my PC was MintMe Wallet but mining Pools refer to it as WebChain and the miner releases on github are also name webchain-Something. I think this is because they renamed the project on March 18 according to their Tweet and pools need some time to update name and miner will change name on it's next release.

2- MIB Coin:

I am not sure if this does hardware mining, but I had to download it's apk from MIBcoin's website and it connects to pools so it probably does hardware mining. Anyways, I have not used this app because for some reason it just doesn't connects to the default pool and I also cannot change to pool. But you can give it a try anyways. Here is the value of MIB coin in USD below:

Cloud Mining:

1- Electroneum:

You probably would have guessed this will be on list but if you have not checked this out so this is your best option for actually getting something. This app has been around for a while and gives free ETN. You will need to prove your ID and be 18+ to use the app. I am under 18 and they do not let me use the app so I don't know how much ETN they give you these days but in Q4 2018 when I used it (and verification was not required), it gave 10 ETN around every 3 days.

2- Phoneum:

I have been following this project for a while (Almost from when it was released) and first it was hardware mined but now they do cloud mining. They have also released games which I have not checked. But we are not focusing on games in this article. When I first downloaded this app, it did not worked in emulator so if you were deciding to use an emulator instead of a real phone, you better claim from faucets. Phoneum is a ERC20 token and not a coin but that does not matter much. However, until now it is only listed on probit exchange but maybe in future they might get listed on more exchanges.

3- Pi Network:

This is a new app and right now it will not actually pay you any cryptocurrency as it is only in it's Phase 2 (Testnet stage). There is no clear indication in their whitepaper to when will is reach phase 3 (When pi will become an actual cryptocurrency). I am mining pi in hope that all the mined pi in this stage will be still available in Phase 3. But I am not sure about this and did not read anything about this in whitepaper (I hardly read a part of whitepaper).

Pi is not a listed on exchanges so it does not have a value right now. That will be in Phase 3.

If you want to earn more free crypto on mobile so I am going to publish an article on that soon. I don't have much to say about myself but I just got into crypto linking all the way back to a simulator game where you had to make computers and win benchmark tests. LOL.
