I’m not a big fan of decentralized exchanges, but we have to recognize that they can be useful as a first approach to crypto for newbies and that, sometimes, they launch interesting initiatives. Among all of them, I admit I’m a Binancian: not because it was my first CEX (that record goes to Coinbase), but because it was the first to introduce me, when I was just starting out, to the concepts of staking, farming and, more generally, to DeFi (on BSC).
Today I want to bring to your attention the new Binance Launchpool. For those who don’t know them, Launchpools are pools of liquidity on Binance where users can deposit their funds (a kind of single staking) in exchange for a new token being launched. Well, for its 29th Launchpool Binance has chosen the token of a protocol dear to all Terra users: Anchor Protocol (ANC). Briefly, Anchor is a protocol born on the Terra network to offer users low volatility savings products on Terra’s main stablecoin: UST. To date, on UST deposits Anchor offers an APY of 19.49%, among the highest offered on DeFi for stable currency deposits. Recently, Loop Finance promoted an Anchor-themed Bounty. Let’s come to the details of the Launchpool. 2 million ANC have been provided as rewards for participants, which will be distributed as follows: 1.4 million (70%) will be redistributed among those who stake BNB in proportion to their contribution; 400,000 (20%) among those who stake their LUNA; 200,000 (10%) for those who deposit BUSD. Farming began today and will end on February 24, for a total of 30 days.
The rewards are calculated and redistributed on an hourly basis, funds can be withdrawn at any time without losing the rewards already accrued. So far, over 200 million BUSD, over 1 million LUNA and 3 million BNB have already been deposited. Although the APYs are not particularly high, considering the strength of the Anchor project, if you have funds on Binance, from this Launchpool there’s only money to be made.
In my case, I recently bought during the last deep a bit of LUNA. My idea is to keep them there a few days to farm ANC at over 20% APY and then, once the Launchpool is over, move them to Terra Station to be put to good use in DeFi. Usually, projects promoted in this way by Binance, thanks to the strong advertising push from one of the most established CEX on the scene, also grow in value, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a small pump of ANC in the coming days. Veniamo ai dettagli del Launchpool su Binance. Sono stati forniti ben 2 milioni di ANC come rewards per i partecipanti, che verranno così ripartiti: 1,4 milioni (il 70%) sarà redistribuito tra coloro che metteranno in stake BNB in proporzione al loro contributo; 400,000 (il 20%) tra coloro che metteranno in stake i loro LUNA; 200,000 (il 10%) per coloro che depositeranno BUSD. Il farming è iniziato oggi e terminerà il 24 febbraio, per un totale di 30 giorni.
Le rewards sono calcolate e redistribuite su base oraria, i fondi possono essere ritirati in qualsiasi momento senza perdere le ricompense già maturate. Ad ora, a poche ore dall’inizio del farming, sono già stati depositati oltre 200 milioni di BUSD, oltre 1 milione di LUNA e 3 milioni di BNB. Anche se gli APY non sono particolarmente alti, considerando la solidità del progetto Anchor, se si hanno dei fondi su Binance da questo Launchpool c’è solo da guadagnare.
Nel mio caso, ho recentemente comprato durante l’untimo deep un po’ di LUNA. La mia idea è di tenerli lì qualche giorno a farmare ANC a più del 20% di APY e poi, una volta finita la Launchpool, spostarli su Terra Station per essere impiegati al meglio nella DeFi. Solitamente, i progetti così promossi da Binance, grazie alla forte spinta pubblicitaria su uno dei CEX più consolidati del panorama, crescono anche nel valore, quindi non mi stupirebbe in piccolo pump di ANC nei prossimi giorni.
