Many years ago, when I was new to the social media scene, I pretty much followed anyone who followed me.

Nowadays, I am staunchly "Follow Averse".

Why?

Because on many platforms, blindly following people leads to a butt-load of annoying SPAM showing up on your personal feed.

Also, "Unfollowing" is a pain in the ass and often brings out some nasty troll/stalker behavior in some individuals.

Believe me, I KNOW.

A few years ago, I culled my bloated following list on Steemit and Hive. And for the next year or so, I had to deal with some pretty shitty and stubborn stalkers!

Now, I actually go to a person's profile, see if they are truly a person and not a bot and view a couple of their posts to see if any quality content is being posted.

How 'bout you?

What is your opinion about following others on a platform?

Hope you and yours are well and loving life today.
