The Last Samurai is a 2003 epic period action drama film.

Captain Algren is a Civil War and Indian War veteran haunted by his role in the massacre of Native Americans at the Washita River.

His personal and emotional conflicts greatly influence his behavior when he meets samurai warriors during the 19th century Meiji Restoration in Japan.
