If This World Is Fleeting
If even a grain of millet becomes cheap in the end,
Let it learn the worth of one moment before its life must end.
God brought us into this world so we might come to know Him,
And in the mirror of creation, find a glimpse of Him within.
If this world is fleeting, then let us remain through love;
Let us be kind to people, and gentle with every heart we touch.
Neither gold nor silver will remain, nor crowns, nor thrones, nor power,
No name carved into stone will last forever, no glory lasts beyond its hour.
What remains of a human being is not wealth or earthly gain;
It is the goodness left behind, remembered long after we are gone.
If you hurt a single heart, remember that the heavens may tremble,
For every heart can be a sacred home when love makes it gentle.
If you find someone lonely, sit beside them for a while;
Sometimes one warm and caring look can heal a wounded soul.
If a hand reaches out to you, do not call that hand a stranger;
Perhaps the hand that came to help was sent by God Himself.
If you see someone fall, do not laugh—reach out and lift them;
For perhaps one day, your own salvation will come through the hand you gave them.
If you give and receive no thanks, do not regret your kindness;
A good deed needs no applause when it is offered purely.
If this world has wounded you, tie your heart to God;
For in the darkest nights, His presence may feel even closer.
Do not say, “My provision came from this one,” or, “My fortune came from that one”;
Every blessing that arrives is, in the end, by His grace.
If one door closes before you, do not say that the road has ended;
Many doors remain closed until the morning when God opens them.
If sorrow falls like rain, if you become a cloud for one night,
Remember the God who brings new growth after every storm.
This world was never meant to be our permanent home,
And we were never meant to remain here forever.
The traveler will one day return to the place he truly belongs,
And when the breath grows faint and every road back is closed,
Say with a peaceful heart: “I saw God within this world.”
Say: “My Lord, I saw You among the people of this world;
I saw You in the hand that lifted someone who stood alone.
I saw You in the eyes that wept for another’s pain,
I saw You in the heart that smiled because it chose to forgive.
I saw You in the bread someone willingly shared,
I saw You in the hidden tear shed for someone in need.
And if one day they carry me away, and something of me remains here,
Remember me for my kindness—that alone will be enough.
For every human being eventually leaves, but their deeds remain;
And after we are gone, only the traces of what we did remain.
So, my heart, while you still breathe, choose love and do not forget;
For perhaps your final smile will become someone’s reason to keep going.
If someone causes you pain, do not let hatred take root within you;
A heart filled with hatred withers, but a heart filled with love can bloom.
If someone becomes your enemy, still wish goodness upon them;
Perhaps one sincere prayer from you may transform their heart.
And if one day you rise to greatness, keep pride far from your soul;
For whoever climbs to the highest place will one day descend again.
If you are given power, give a portion of it to the powerless;
For power is only a trust, and every trust eventually returns to its Owner.
If the world smiles upon you, smile back at the world;
It is not worth surrendering the peace of your heart to its passing troubles.
Come, while we still have the gift of being here, let us become lamps for one another;
In these short nights of life, let us become a source of peace.
For tomorrow, perhaps no name or image of us will remain,
But somewhere, a peaceful heart may simply say:
“What a beautiful human being they were.”
If this world is fleeting, then let us remain through love;
Let us be kind to people, and gentle with every heart we touch.
And when the veil finally falls between us and this earthly world,
Let us say:
“My Lord, I saw You here—
What a beautiful dream this life was.” 🌿
