Hope you read the parts before, I was hoping this would not only be a guide for people who have/will or in future will have teams, but also as a some sort of remedy for all of the people who were hurt, damaged, by having a a poor Boss. I know how such an experience can influence self-esteem. What if it was not You but a toxic boss, or maybe the whole organization was toxic?
             Hope this is useful.

They don’t honor their commitments.

Making promises to people places you on the fine line that lies between making them very happy and watching them walk out the door.

When you uphold a commitment, you grow in the eyes of your employees because you prove yourself to be trustworthy and honorable, two qualities essential for every leader.

But when you disregard your commitment, you come across as slimy, uncaring, and disrespectful. I also heard one phrase (thankfully not about myself) about a teamlead from his employee (by the way, hight level consultant):

"This is a man i would not go into a killing a fly in a restroom project with"

So this part is mostly for leaders, remember:

Don't commit to thinghs you cannot deliver.

I learned to tell people "I will try", "I will see" whethewer i didnt know will I be able to deliver. Some times i was challanged by people like "but the CEO, CFO, Project Manger, Site Manager, Director told us XYZ. Each time I had to responce with simply, I cannot be hold responsible for what hey say, but if you hear some commitment from me, then be sure I will deliver. This made me and my employees in a good relations. Even when coroprate chose to be unfair, they knew that they can rely on my word.

And yes, coroprate can be very unfair, but you can, and you need for your employees.

After all, if the Leader, Boss, Team Head, doesn’t honor her or his commitments, why should everyone else?
