Sitting here with my mother in-law and my husband, just having a banter over crosswords.

Mother In-law: How do you spell delicious?

My Husband: R I C H A R D.. Delicious...

As you have guessed, Richard is his name-O and I'm not sure if there are other smart ass husbands like mine out there, named Richard, but my hubby comes up with some quick minded things that are classed as "Dad Joke's" in our family.

Me: I think someone needs to go and get his ears checked, he miss heard delicious for stale

Husband: Nope. Stale is spelt W-I-F-E. 

Me: (Laughing because he doesn't realize he's sleeping on the couch!)

My mother in-law is across from me, laughing so hard, I'm not sure if she is about to have a heart attack or hypo-ventilate.

Mother in-law: I don't know how you two do it, but if my husband said something like that to me, I'd be so mad and one thing for sure, I would not be laughing...

....

I didn't realize that we, my husband and I, have a relationship where we can literally say things to each other and laugh about it. I mean, There have been a few times where we have crossed that line, however, the real authentic apology we give each other, after the fact, is always followed through and we have never ever left each other feeling unloved.

However

When we banter like this and give each other cheek, all gloves are off haha..

Still doing cross words, Mother in-law, Husband and myself, I thought I'd be. You know. kind of fishing for some loving without making him feel like I'm making him love me.. Suttle but direct approach, you know?.

Me: What do you call someone that loves you?

My Husband: My Mum.

Me: Prick

Husband: (Laughing his ass off knowing exactly what I was doing)

Me: (Laughing with him because I realized he knew)

Mother In-law: (Laughing at us both because we both dopey haha)

You see I stuffed up right there, giving him a "IN" to another joking smart ass remark, but don't think for one minute I think he's serious because I know he loves me more than life itself. 

I'm just as bad. I've dished a few here and there and you know what? We have never laughed so much in our lives. 

Life without him would not be the same.

I'll never change one thing about my smart-ass husband.
