Back Again (But not Using Brave)

"Guess who's back, back again?
Snark is back; tell a friend!"

I logged in again today to look at one of my old posts (in which I list a number of job posting sites for freelance gigs that pay in crypto). I see that Pub0x has dropped support for Statera (on the Fantom Network) and gone back to ETH and AMPL (presumably in anticipation of the ETH 2.0 merge due to happen some time at the end of this month or beginning of September). I'm not a fan of ETH or ERC20s, but at least they're not Fantom.

Since I have always done better here than on read.cash, I'm back after a long hiatus. (I don't even remember when I left). Edit: It was in February.

I haven't got much news, other than that I've been studying C# (1.0-10.0) with the aim of learning both ASP .NET Core and Unity, knowledge and skills which will hopefully make me relevant and in demand in the job market. I also want to learn PHP 8, since I've got a client's site that needs to be upgraded when the hosting provider upgrades its servers in October. Maybe, after that, I'll learn Rust (since it's used for Solana) and SCrypto. That might be my way into blockchain and crypto development. So much to learn, so little time and money ...

Also, I've been having trouble with Brave browser not sending my rewards to Gemini, since Brave has removed support for African countries from its list of supported regions. It's just blatant and unapologetic discrimination on their part! When I contacted Gemini's Support department about the issue, they were very helpful and gave me the exact link I needed in order to file an issue with Brave. However, Brave Support was less than helpful, simply giving me a link to their "Supported Countries" page without so much as an explanation as to why they are now discriminating against Africa after months of supporting it.

To be honest, I'm not going to bother contacting them again; I'm through with them. Their software is about as reliable and stable as a wet sandcastle (not to mention that it has the same excessive memory consumption problems as Chrome). It took me five attempts to even get it both installed and receiving ads in the first place and at least two attempts to get it linked to and verified with Gemini. (Uphold is a lost cause.) Considering I'm not a fan of ETH and ERC20s to begin with (thanks to the ludicrously high gas fees and numerous delays in the progress of the ETH 2.0 merge), this is the cherry on the top of the whole cake, leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Why Eich (Mozilla big cheese and creator of JavaScript) and his team based Brave on Chrome/Chromium when the obvious choice was to fork Firefox (which is clearly superior) or collaborate with MetaMask to build a wallet extension/plugin, I don't know ... Who even uses Chrome, anyway?

Assuming I'll be able to convert my ERC20s to something else when the merge happens, that's what I'll do. I'll probably need to buy more ETH first, though, but that's not likely to happen.  (I'd rather earn it by posting here.)

That is all for now; I'm going looking for work, since I really need some decent income before the end of the month. (The sugar mommy situation is definitely not going as well as I'd hoped. Although I'm making a regular income from Vixxi, it's only a few dollars worth of Nano a month; not enough to keep me afloat. The same can be said of JTV and CVn.)

Great White Snark
Great White Snark

I'm currently seeking fixed employment as a S/W & Web developer (C# & ASP .NET MVC, PHP 8+, Python 3), hoping to stash the farmed fiat and go full Crypto, quit the 07:30-18:00 grind. Unsigned music producer; snarky; white; balding; smashes Patriarchy.

The Snark Returns: Random Musings from The GWS

SW/Web developer: ~12 years of C# (yay!) & ASP .Net MVC, Java (blargh!), Python (woot!) experience. I'm currently hitting faucets and writing for crypto to stake/invest . | I work part-time with animals. Sadly, my cerebellum and medulla oblongata aren't Einsteinian in proportion. However, I possess a Brobdingnagian vocabulary and get by with being a barbigerous logophile. I can probably write you into bed, if smashing Capitalism and Patriarchy turns you on. Kink is political!
