Trading Predators and Prey

Bienvenidos mis ositos, tu siempre eres mis queridos! (Welcome back little bears you are always my dears!)

When I’m in the mood for a good cry I like to watch Bambi.

Publish0x Troll: What’s so sad about seeing Bambi at the girlie bar?

Panda: Not THAT Bambi, you horn dog! THIS Bambi

Publish0x Troll: You big oaf why would you show us this tearjerker?!? It’s a good thing I have tissues handy!

Panda: Wait, why do you have so many tissue boxes by your computer?

Publish0x Troll: That’s none of your business! Don’t you have a blog post to write?

Panda: You know for a nice tip, I’m willing to overlook your browsing habits…

Publish0x Troll: Fine! Now get lost!

Dear readers, nature isn’t a nice cartoon with a happy ending.

Nature isn’t fair.

Life isn’t fair.

You have to learn to make it unfair in your favor.

Trading resembles nature in that sense.

For instance, deer look cute…from a distance.

But if they multiply too fast they become pests. Any seasoned motorist that resides near the woodlands know the annoyance of having to dodge them.

During mating season, you can probably see a frustrated stag that lost a fight for the right to a harem.

They look like digital asset investors during crypto winter. They have their heads down, and walk in a dejected manner along the side of the road.

Next thing you know they’re splattered across your windshield.

Oh well, at least you have some fresh venison for dinner.

Even predators aren’t always safe.

Maybe you’re a lone wolf that got separated from the pack. You have to settle for hunting rabbits or other small rodents to survive.

They’re like S#!+coin traders that use up a lot of energy chasing the latest fad with very little to show for their efforts.

Or even worse they overleverage themselves trying to bring down a big score.

They wanted to eat food but end up BEING the food like this poor guy…

I had no idea donkeys ate wolves!

Maybe some start hunting in packs. They team up to try to exploit their numbers advantage. They spot a stag with huge antlers. Eventually the stag goes down but not without a fight. A few wolves get impaled, some can’t even get close to the carcass.

Maybe the alpha wolf tosses you a bone but only after he gnaws on it first.

It’s not so different with some of these paid “alpha” discord groups (cough <pump and dump> cough). Naïve retail investors put up the monthly fee to join only to find out that they’re usually too late to the best deals.

The admin and/ or owners (with a few insiders) line up to eat first. If you’re lucky maybe you’ll be right after them. If not better luck next time.

There’s a problem when predators get too good. They eventually run out of prey.

CeFi exchanges, market makers and other large institutions have gotten too fat. They have preyed on retail investors for so long that they have driven the population to new lows starving themselves in the process.

When prey multiply too fast, they wreck their own ecosystem and dilute their own gene pool. Without predators to chase them the population as a whole gets fat, lazy, and stupid.

Retail isn’t that innocent. Look at what happened in 2020-2021.

Some combination of greed and stupidity lead to retail investors getting complacent. They didn’t think to take profits or taking their digital assets off centralized exchanges.

The good thing is the survivors (both predator and prey) will learn from their mistakes given enough time.

Regulators and lawyers are like buzzards waiting for either predator or prey to meet a grisly demise.

They only come after the demise of a crypto entity. Then they pick the carcasses clean. Gee thanks…

Take care of yourselves frens, it’s WILD out there!

Obviously none of this is formal financial or tax advice. You need to find qualified professionals in your jurisdiction.

Be sharp, stay hungry let’s get that money!
