In this post, I’m excited to introduce the NerdOctaxe – a thrilling new DIY project for crypto enthusiasts, hardware tinkerers, and mining fans alike. This compact beast is a high-performance Bitcoin solo miner that packs a serious punch with 9.6 TH/s of hashing power while maintaining impressive energy efficiency.
German Version: Der neue NerdOctaxe Bitcoin Solo Miner
🔧 Under the Hood
At its core, the NerdOctaxe runs on eight BM1370 ASIC chips, salvaged from the legendary Antminer S21 Pro. These chips are finely tuned for the SHA-256 algorithm, the same one that powers Bitcoin (BTC) and several other cryptocurrencies.
With this setup, the NerdOctaxe delivers 9.6 terahashes per second at around 150 watts of power consumption — an outstanding performance-to-efficiency ratio, especially when compared to bulky, power-hungry mining rigs.

💰 Supported Coins
Thanks to its SHA-256 optimization, the NerdOctaxe isn’t limited to Bitcoin alone. You can also mine a range of other coins in the Bitcoin ecosystem, including:
-
Bitcoin Cash ($BCH)
-
eCash ($XEC)
-
Bitcoin2 ($BC2)
-
Digibyte ($DGB)
This flexibility makes it perfect for miners who want to experiment or support different projects within the Bitcoin network.
⚙️ How It Works – and Why It Stands Out
Functionally, the NerdOctaxe is similar to the well-known Bitaxe Gamma, a favorite among solo miners. The twist? The NerdOctaxe is eight times faster. That means it dramatically increases your chances of striking gold — or rather, finding a valid block — as long as you’ve got a bit of that all-important solo-mining luck on your side.
