Today I want to tell you about a really interesting contest organized by the heroesonbike staff that will be held on the bountyblok platform between May 4 and 13, 2023.
First a very brief introduction to the new tool used.

But before I talk about the artwork, I want to tell you a brief story about Major Taylor, the cyclist who is depicted on the NFT.
Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor was an American cyclist, born in 1878. He was an African American, and his athletic career took place at a time when racism was still very much present in the United States. Despite this, Taylor was one of the most famous and respected cyclists of his era, winning numerous titles and world records.
His athletic career began while he was still a teenager, and in a short time he became one of the fastest and most skilled cyclists of his time. In 1899, at only 21 years old, Taylor won the world track cycling title, becoming the first African American to do so.
But his career was severely hampered by racism: many opponents refused to compete with him, and he often suffered insults and acts of discrimination. However, Taylor did not let this discourage him, and he continued to compete with determination and talent, becoming more and more famous and respected, a true cycling rock star of the times.
To this day the Major is remembered as a symbol of American sports and as a pioneer in the fight against racism.
The artwork "The Major" by Caterina Galli, depicts Taylor in all his strength and determination, with an image that perfectly captures his personality and style. The work was created in only 50 examples, but only 19 are still available.
