What I've Been Through In The Last 3 Years!

  • Aloha , I would like to take some time to tell everyone just how I came about to be living in Pennsylvania and where I am at now.

As you all know I am originally born and raised on the big-island of hawai'i. I moved to Pennsylvania in the summer of 2018. When I first came to Pennsylvania it was an experience I will never forget. I remember tripping out on the speed limits at 65-70mph and some places 80mph, because hawai'i does not exceed speeds more than 55mph.

Another thing I had mentioned in one of my posts was the sun stays up longer in the mainland than in Hawai'i as well, because hawai'i the sun goes down at the same time everyday, and that's around 5:30-6:00pm.

Well that was just most of what I had to get use to with living in Pennsylvania and being away from my island home. Hawai'i was all I knew my whole entire life. I was raised up with calling our elders or people older than our age by aunty/uncle, and its out of respect. Now if I call anyone aunty/uncle here in the mainland they give me the stink eye, look at me weird, as if they saying to themselves, why is she calling me aunty/uncle when we are not related, or they will start talking rudely to me.

Being here in the mainland I have ran into people that judge my talk, meaning I would be answering a question someone is asking me, they will look right at my fiancé and ask him what did I just say, and this has happened many, many times.

When I first moved to Pennsylvania, I was brought over from Hawai'i. My fiancé was on vacation with his mom in hawai'i and he was on an app looking for someone to show him around the island, and long an behold there I was.

Well with that being said, when I came to Pennsylvania intentionally I was put under the impression and told that I was gonna help my fiancé and his mom fix up there property that they had in Muncy, PA. Property of 132.5 acres was supposed to have been sold and we were supposed to have moved to Oregon, Well that did not happen.

After only being with my fiancé and his mom for close to 1 month, my fiancée  mom and I got into a verbal argument. The outcome of that verbal fight did not end good in my eyes.

My fiancée mom was under the impression that I was trying to steal the property and take everything from here like what my fiancée ex wife was trying to do. Well that was not at all true, actually far from it.

So now with all the thoughts and impressions that she had about me, it led to my fiancé signing his name off the property and over to his mother. Along with taking his name off the property, My fiancée mom gave him $40,000, a 2018 RZR , a 2018 RV and was to leave her house by the end of the month.

Now with all that being said, I was in shock, I was left worried and scared, because I have no family or friends here in the mainland. I do not know anyone. With an RV attached to my fiancée truck we went and found a campground where we could put our RV.

We found a campground it was called Yogi Bear Campgrounds. It was a cool place and great environment to be in. We were staying on the campgrounds for almost 4 months and then we both decided that our funds were getting low and we needed to find somewhere to live or stay for good.

We both started looking for places, but kept getting run arounds everywhere we went, until I decided to look online. I looked under craigslist, and some other sites and then I looked under Facebook.

I found our home we are in now on Facebook. Our home is 2 hours and 30 mins away from my fiancée mom, but it was also the cheapest we could find.

After living in our new home and only being in Pennsylvania for 7 months I got pregnant.  I now have my 1st child who will be 2 in august.

I have not been home to Hawai'i in 3 years now. Everytime we say we are going to go back hawai'i, so I can see my family and friends and so our son can meet his great grandma, uncles and aunties , something seems to always happen.

Been through so dam much since I have been away from my island home hawai'i,  I have lost lots of family & friends, I have also lots pets left in families care. I mostly miss my grandma for she is the one that brought me up and raised me. I also miss the beach, the fresh ocean smell that comes in with the sweet clean breeze. I miss eating raw fish, raw crabs, raw opihi, laulau, lomi salmon, poke, kalua pork and more.

I do miss home and just wish it was for 1, cheaper in flights and easier to get home to Hawai'i. With so much happening with covid19 and other financial hardships that came out of no where , I just wish that it was not so 😔 !!  We are just now going to have to just put aside little by little, and then just maybe we will have enough to fly back home to hawai'i at least once. I miss my island home, like what I said my whole entire family 👪  and friends are on the big-island of hawai'i, and praying 1 day soon in our future we will make it back to hawai'i, so I can see them all again.

Every little money helps that we be putting aside, even if its only a penny, because a penny goes a long way.

My fiancée and I Just Continue to pray, all day, and everyday that God will continue to see us through all our hardships.

Stay tuned for more posts

Hawai'i Island Life
Hawai'i Island Life

Imagine waking up every morning and being able to just load up your car and go to the beach an bbq, Imagine being able to just camp where you want and fish (with no permits required). Imagine being able to just walk right down the road to a friends house or go right around the corner to your uncle or auntys house. Imagine fresh breezes under coconut trees and listening to the sounds of the waves rumbling on the black sand beach, rolling the pebbles along the sand with incoming waves.
