maybe you have heard of "Dalgona Coffee" lately, as it recently became a viral hit.
The viral trend of sharing recipes and photos of the do-it-yourself (DIY) coffee first gained prominence during the social distancing orders in South Korea. The coining of the name is credited to the South Korean actor Jung Il-woo, who ordered a whipped coffee at an eatery in Macau. He likened the taste to that of dalgona, a type of Korean honeycomb toffee.
How to make "Dalgona Coffee"
- 2 tsp. of instant coffee
- 2 tsp. of sugar
- 2 tsp. hot water
Mix it for around for 10 minutes, till the texture becomes creamy and the color becomes light brown.
You can use a hand mixer, a whisk or even just a tea spoon to do that.

Use the "Dalgona" as a topping.
You can explore even more variations. For example you can add coffee powder, cocoa powder, crumbled biscuits, or honey.
