Brave.

Brave.

By Grumpybrit | Grumpy Rant | 8 Jul 2020

Well it's that time of month again.  Any of you that follow me know the trouble I've had with payout, this month is no different.  Quick recap.

3 computers with Brave on each, 2 paid out, the other that's become the thorn in my side, hasn't.  Creators rewards also paid out.

Still have the 149 BAT stuck in the browser wallet, May and June's ads for the offending browser haven't been seen since they left estimated.  This is now the third month of trying to get this fixed, the 149 was sent to me for April's ads by cryptojennie.

The only thing I've managed to get is muted/blocked/banned from posting in their community forums, haven't had a reason to why, hey they haven't been arsed to reply and help in the last 2 months so why inform me what I did.  Posted on the reddit site, not holding any hope out there either, as I'm one of many that are ignored.

The browser is fantastic, take my hat of to them for that, but the support and payment system is woefully inadequate and to ignore and mute users is very unprofessional, doesn't take 2 mins to reply to DM's.  Now I hear you shout, they must have thousands of complaints...to this I say hire more staff or fix the problems, then there wouldn't be all these complaints.  If they want to take on Google, they'll have to step up their game and not become another Google.  Alas it looks like another company that only cares about it's own growth curve...got to be forever going up.

You can see they have started bloating out the browser with widgets, they still haven't fixed the sync issue to my knowledge but they can bring out new stuff pretty quick, then ignore the issues to work frantically on the next bloatware. They have managed to get the limit on the Uphold account to 4 now, which has shown me that it is Brave that is control of how many browsers you can be paid out for.

This is the problem with centralised systems, they hold all the cards.  Brave limits how many browsers can be linked to a Uphold wallet, they tell you which wallet to use, limit the amount of ads to a max of 5, then you get the affiliate shit show that got them free publicity even if it was bad, good or bad it was free publicity, this doesn't sound like I'm taking back control, more like they are taking back control.

Take back control with Brave.

I'm seeing no control my side, I have no more control now than I did before using Brave, I have a little more privacy and that's it. I know this may shock a few people, but you have no more control, this is still a centralised system at it's core.  From my experience, it's fast becoming another wannabe Google with a reward system.

Don't get me wrong, the browser itself is fantastic and highly recommend it but don't be fooled in to thinking you are taking back any control, you're not.  Yes they pay you, well some of you, wow, yeah great, this doesn't mean you are in control though.

List of referrals below.  Hey, at least I get the payout for the referrals.

Brave browser

Atomic wallet

Honeygain

CryptoTab Browser

Netbox browser

Presearch

Zen faucet

Just one month were shit just works would be great.

Like, dislike, comment or don't.  Hope someone found it of interest and I'll probably be back next month with yet more disappointment from Brave.

*Update* Well slap me with a kipper.  09/07/20 been un-muted on their community forums and been contacted.  I'd given up on them, started using Netbox browser more has they don't seem to have problems running a browser with it's own blockchain, You even get paid on time every day.  OK NBX is worth way less than BAT but at least I get the token.

*Another update* 10/07/20 I have May & Junes rewards sent, BUT now it's stuck with the other 149 in the browser wallet, at least I'm getting some help now lol
