Today is a good day. All 3 browsers paid out, Hell Yea!
It took 3-4 months to get all 3 to payout, so break out the Ice cream and jelly, we're having a party.
OK, celebrations over. Brave still hasn't done anything to improve the payment system. I'd noticed a lot of people posting about the lack of ads they were receiving, I'd noticed this to. So I fired up a old comp and installed Brave on it, I didn't link the wallet to my Uphold account, carried on doing what I do with the other 3 comps, days went past with 2 of the browsers not getting anything for 2-3 days but the un-linked browser was popping them out left and right.
Now my problem with the payment system are over, hopefully, I'll be able to do a few experiments. The fanbois may not like this but why do we trust Brave? is it cos they say they are helping us take back control? or is it just that they pay for ads? are they any different to Google or are they just trying to be the next data sucking corporation.
The browser is still a good browser but it's the mindset behind it that worries me, look at how they reacted to a fork of the browser, the speed the lawyers came out was incredible, Brave doesn't like to play with others by the looks of it, and I can certainly say they are not helping to give back control. Yes, there are other browsers that pay, so Brave isn't special in that way, the only trouble I've had with Brave was all to do with the reward system and this is the selling point for Brave. If a user needs to spend has much time on the forums has I have trying to get paid for the ads they've seen will not have a good experience with the browser.
Support is a joke and can be pretty combative, the community forums are, well terrible. I've been muted on there, had posts locked or unlisted with no explanations, for saying it's all about taking back control there is a lot of censorship and a serious lack of having any control.
Anyway, I'll be conducting my little experiments if you like it or not lol
