Gaza is once again at the center of global attention. The conflict between Israel and Hamas has unleashed a human tragedy that goes far beyond the Middle East. Bombs, hunger, destroyed hospitals, and above all thousands of civilians paying the price.

It all began with Hamas’ surprise attack and the immediate response of Israel, led by Prime Minister Netanyahu. Thousands of rockets and retaliations quickly turned into a war that has destroyed entire neighborhoods. The most innocent—children and women—are the ones who suffer the most.

To understand Gaza, we need to look back in history: the creation of Israel in 1948, the Palestinian Nakba, failed peace talks like Oslo, and the rise of Hamas in 2007. Decades of conflict and broken promises have made life in the Strip almost impossible.

Geopolitics is always present: Israel supported by the United States, Hamas connected with Iran and Qatar, Europe divided and mostly passive. Meanwhile, across European cities, protests and solidarity with the Palestinians grow. Even shopkeepers are joining symbolic boycotts against Israeli products.

The real drama remains the children. UNICEF calls Gaza one of the most dangerous places in the world for a child. No school, no home, no future. This is the cruellest legacy of this war.

Is there a way out? Two states, international negotiations, ceasefires? Perhaps. But as long as human lives are treated as collateral damage, Gaza will remain an open wound for the entire world.

Gaza: la guerra, la storia e il dramma umano

Gaza è di nuovo al centro dell’attenzione mondiale. Il conflitto tra Israele e Hamas ha scatenato una tragedia umana che va ben oltre il Medio Oriente. Bombe, fame, ospedali distrutti e soprattutto migliaia di civili che pagano il prezzo più alto.

Tutto è iniziato con l’attacco a sorpresa di Hamas e la risposta immediata di Israele, guidato dal primo ministro Netanyahu. Migliaia di razzi e rappresaglie si sono trasformati rapidamente in una guerra che ha raso al suolo interi quartieri. A soffrire di più sono i più innocenti: bambini e donne.

Per capire Gaza bisogna guardare alla storia: la nascita di Israele nel 1948, la Nakba palestinese, i falliti colloqui di pace come Oslo, fino all’ascesa di Hamas nel 2007. Decenni di conflitti e promesse mancate hanno reso la vita nella Striscia quasi impossibile.

La geopolitica è sempre presente: Israele sostenuto dagli Stati Uniti, Hamas con legami con Iran e Qatar, l’Europa divisa e per lo più passiva. Intanto, nelle città europee crescono le proteste e la solidarietà verso i palestinesi. Perfino commercianti partecipano a boicottaggi simbolici contro prodotti israeliani.

Il vero dramma restano i bambini. L’UNICEF definisce Gaza uno dei luoghi più pericolosi al mondo per un minore. Niente scuola, niente casa, nessun futuro. Questa è l’eredità più crudele di questa guerra.

Esiste una via d’uscita? Due Stati, negoziati internazionali, cessate il fuoco? Forse. Ma finché la vita umana sarà trattata come danno collaterale, Gaza rimarrà una ferita aperta per il mondo intero.
