Tether enters the development of decentralized applications with Holepunch. Holepunch is supported by Bitfintnex and Hypercore. The initial closed source development and according to the statement made by Tether will remain so until the Alpha tests are completed. By the end of 2022, it is estimated that the code can be opened so that it can be publicly audited, that is when the community of developers and engineers will be able to develop their projects.

With the announcement of the project, the video calling and instant messaging app Keet was also announced. It will also allow Bitcoin payments on the Lightning network.
