Of all assfluencers who purposely mislead or scam their audience, gambling streamers are an absolute low IMO. Gambling doesn't just effect the person who you drag into it, it effects their entire family as well and perhaps worst of all, when they are not gambling it also effects their ability to properly function in their daily lives (i.e. work, parent, student).
I've known someone who's gambling addiction not only cost him his house, but led his family to despair and eventually cut him loose as they went to live with relatives after they were forced to sell their family home. Leaving him broke, alone and still in his path to self destruction. Now, this may sound somewhat selfish of the family to do, but apart from tying him in the basement with only food and water at his disposal, they really, really tried everything. I remember how at one point I even went to stay with them for a while and it was literally the first house I went to which had no internet connection. They disconnected it earlier that year because he kept going to those online bookies and casinos after work and at the end of the night lost more than he earned that day. But everyone seemed fine with no WiFi and gladly accepted it. Hey, if this would help their dad overcome his addiction and keep their family happy and together then why not right? Sadly, this was just a temporary solution which lasted just a few months as he later on secretly got a sim card with mobile data and I'll never forget his excuse when he was caught after he eventually ran out of money again and started to take money meant for their household expenses and had missed several payments for numerous bills: "I would have won this time if I was playing on the pc instead of this tiny mobile screen."😑
But all this happened before these crypto casinos even emerged, so why am I singling them out specifically? Because they are an easy way for these filth who both run it or promote it to use and circumvent certain laws regarding gambling in their own country, while their stupid faces are simultaneously drawing negative attention from authorities around the world onto the crypto sphere.
I like John Candy's quote from 'Once Upon A Crime' the best "the only way to win at a casino, is to not play." Seriously, just think about it and I vaguely remember sharing something similar here before, but either way here goes: There are no equal odds in any gambling option. Meaning that the moment you place a bet, you already lost. There is no double up for both outcomes, doesn't that tell you anything? In e.g. tennis, where only one of two outcomes are possible, the closest the odds can ever get for the most equally estimated outcome is 1.91 vs 1.91, meaning that you get 0.91 cents for every 1 Euro you risk. To keep it short and simple, this literally means that when 10 people bet in total 10.000 Euro on outcome A, and 10 people bet 10.000 on outcome B, 10 people will lose and their money will pay out the other half of 10 people who risked an exact equal amount of money, but the bookie still makes 900 Euro profit. This is as basic as it gets, but this is essentially the same for all gambling options with odds that are much, much worse and an increasing number of ridiculous addendum "high reward bonus" bets to empty you even faster. Taking every last cent from you as it leaves you with only anger, sadness, disappointment and in some cases outright insanity. Honestly, what scenario could make a grown man not go to the bathroom and just take off his pants and do it in public? I could have a few horror-movie themed guesses but gambling would not be a scenario that I could envision, but guess what:
I've said it before and probably will probably say so again in the future, but gambling is just not worth it. It wasn't worth it with your fiat money, it's an outright crime to do it with your crypto.
