Two days ago, I was describing the outlook for new ETFs in 2025 (according to Bloomberg’s predictions). I was stressing that the change in the US administration could launch a race for new ETFs on demand for many cryptocurrencies. 2 days later, this prediction already seems to be in place.

On Friday, January 31, 21Shares teams filed an application with the SEC to launch a Polkadot cash ETF. According to the documentation filed with the SEC, the ETF would be listed on the Cboe BZX exchange, with Coinbase as a depositary for DOTs. This request comes in a context where many financial players are looking to launch crypto ETFs, taking advantage of the regulatory relaxation following the resignation of Gary Gensler from the SEC’s presidency.
