A priest who fights supernatural powers. This theme has proven itself in the movie Exorcista and many others, but in the video games but the servants of God do not get such a large space. The Padre wants to remedy this and also pays tribute to classic horror adventure. And for sure, it's all made of cubes and polygons, which makes the game even more interesting. Minimally visual.
So you will be a man in a sutan, with a checkered head and abilities to help you fight the demons and perhaps save the lost cardinal. And you will fight for your soul and face temptations. Your journey leads to a mysterious house shrouded in darkness, where something - in fact, nothing is with church order. What happened there before your arrival is indicated by the documents and references you find in the corridors and rooms. There you will also find various items for which you have to find use, otherwise you will not get any further. Sometimes they are quite inconspicuous and easy to miss, sometimes you have to figure out how to get them, because they can often not be picked up and taken away.
There are various puzzles associated with this, such as dice that need to be pushed and deactivated in the correct order. At other times, there is a ghost in the way, and it is necessary to lure it away, to find a way to end his affliction, or to destroy the phantoms. Initially, the priest only serves a metal crowbar, but you also get serious weapons like a pistol or a crossbow. But you also need ammunition, and you never have any bullets and arrows. Rather, the struggles themselves are symbolic and very primitive, and it is best to avoid direct confrontation and to find another path and bypass the enemy.

Occasionally you will die, but you will recover and get a chance to continue the purification mission. After each death, however, angelic tears increase and you must not fill the entire bottle, otherwise it means the end. But there are also ways to empty the bottle, but you can't just spill the contents. Pray at the cross or when you play a religious song on the piano will save you in selected places. Although you are a man of faith, you can also find yourself on the other side of the barrier and temporarily gain a demonic form. This is sometimes necessary to solve certain problems, but sometimes it is rather an obstacle.
In addition to exploring the rooms and physical parts of the house, which include salons, corridors, but also cellars or dungeons, you will find yourself in another space. Mazes with levers and mirrors where ghosts emerge can be quite monotonous and frustrating, especially when you repeatedly cross multiple sections to find the key passage or chest.
Progress is automatically saved and in-game control is easy. All activities, movement, fight, defense, use of objects or pushing objects, you perform with the mouse. Things and scraps are stored in the inventory with a cross tab at the top of the screen, and you need to select the appropriate item when interacting with the surroundings.

The visual page is really distinctive. As mentioned in the introduction, the game is checked, everything is square and looks retro. You see the individual spaces in which you move in a 3D perspective with room viewports. The camera adjusts based on your location and movement, but you can also switch it to get better orientation. As a rule, a new room is loaded when entering the door. Mostly, the surrounding area is shrouded in the gloom, and overall it looks stylish and mysterious. And nostalgically. The audio page is more modest, but you will forgive it.
The title is obviously based on the principles of older classic adventure games, which will be appreciated especially by veterans. But it will not be ideal for younger and less tolerant players. And some things could have been solved a little more swiftly and more practical. Repeatedly, you may find some acid and a lengthy search for a solution or object that you may have missed. However, the game will reward the enduring with an interesting and unusual experience.
The Padre is a likeable priest who, however, requires a great deal of patience and, above all, a positive attitude to old school adventure. If you meet these conditions, this adventure can appeal to you and test your skill and logical thinking. However, it is certainly not a game for everyone and it can deter not only its archaic system, but also frequent wandering and searching for important items that are sometimes properly sewn. But who does not deter it, it can eventually be saved.
