DEGREES OF SEPARATION

Degrees of Separation is an imaginative 2D platformer written by Chris Avellone, with hits such as Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights 2, Planescape: Torment and Fallout: New Vegas. His previous games were RPG with bashful stories. Degrees of Separation is proof that changing genre is not an obstacle either. On the contrary, he was able to conjure up an interesting story about getting to know two different worlds and their characters in a primarily cooperative game. Talking is a direct magic game with a perfectly built atmosphere.

Riddles are a part of an obstacle in this case, but Degrees of Separation is mainly about obstacles and problem solving. Discovering the worlds is relatively non-linear and you can go back to places you've already been. The primary task is to collect scarves wherever you discover them. However, the authors rarely offer them to you without thought.

The riddles are really diverse, almost always to exploit the opposites of both characters. The heat will heat the lamp that activates the elevator, while the cold will push it down again. Ember melts the frozen water and enters it, and Rome walks on the frozen surface. You will also find lines that you have to walk on. You will also have a chance to use similar options for both characters. Ideas are non-escaping and it's up to you to discover them all.

Playing solo is also an option, switching between characters is comfortable and you may come to some puzzles before you play the game with a partner. But this is the magic - playing it on one couch in pairs, enjoying success, arguing on the procedure, teasing. The fact that the game came out on Valentine's Day speaks for itself. Without the cooperation of the heads of two people, you will not get far.

Unfortunately, we also encountered a few mistakes, mainly we were sorry about the hacking of the character in the level and we had to restart. However, saving a position and returning to exactly where you left off is no problem. To travel in the level you use the form of a butterfly and it is very original

Overall, the title is audio-visual per unit and is proof that even in the time of 3D action photorealistic games will attract a platformer with a classic design. Degrees of Separation is a gift at a time of flooding games that resemble each other like an egg egg.

Despite the well-narrated story, which seems to be based on fairy tales that our grandmothers used to tell us, it's not a game for everyone. The title is not appreciated by those who avoid logical solutions. On the other hand, players who have no problem stopping for a moment and thinking about the procedure will welcome Degrees of Separation with open arms.
