WTF Popcorn Factory?

Another Holiday Shopping PSA

First things first, I'm going to introduce you to this app I just used to get $5 off my most recent Amazon purchase: It's called Fetch, and it wants you to scan your receipts so it can sell your shopping data in exchange for digital gift cards. I've been using it infrequently for just over half a year (I don't get a lot of receipts anyway) and was finally able to cash out, but if you use it more diligently you'd definitely be able to earn a lot more. The app earned my referral because, unlike some other apps I've used, it pays out instantly. Use my referral link and you can get $2 in rewards when you scan your first receipt.

It keeps track of the receipts you scan, too, which is a nice feature.

nice

Again, I haven't been using it diligently, but it does pay. I originally thought I would stop using it after I cashed out, but I've been inspired to continue given what a good experience it has been.

Now that the referral is out of the way, there is something else you need to be wary of...

We all know how awesome that cheddar/caramel popcorn mix is, especially at this time of year (I'm a suburban Chicago boy, born and raised), but whether you're buying some for yourself or someone else, you *still* need to be wary of being scammed.

Here's what I mean:

lol that's clever

This would be a great gift for the math teacher/enthusiast on your shopping list, except for one thing...

THE PROOF IS WRONG.

And they're trying to sell that tin of popcorn at full price, which as I recall was over $40 USD. What the fuck, Popcorn Factory?

Notice that there is a chance to 'earn' $10 by referring someone, but even my Jew ass doesn't care because I'm not giving them any of my money regardless. At least Amazon does their math correctly...

Plus, you can use Fold to buy an Amazon digital gift card on credit for your 1% or 2% back or whatever it is, plus an additional few percent in Satoshi for your purchase 😁

... Or you can buy a gift card from somewhere that's not Amazon. That would be good too. Wherever you're shopping from.

Try to find the mistake in the Popcorn Factory math. It's pretty glaringly obvious, but if you can't do it, I've given you the answer at the bottom of this post.

But ANYWAY, as if that bogus math tin weren't enough, I then went to check out with the stuff in my cart, and...

lol wtf popcorn factory

Needless to say, I decided not to spend $90 at this mathematically challenged scam factory.

To be fair, maybe they're just stupid. The popcorn is probably delicious, but I'm taking my dollars elsewhere.

This is the mistake in the 'proof':

lol not really

Happy holidays and don't be dumb, guys.
