Guild of Guardians: The Pax Custos Guide to Guilds in Act One

By Bayrd | Future of Gaming | 24 May 2024

A major element of gameplay in Guild of Guardians will revolve around guilds. This is a highly-anticipated function that, in Act One, leaves a great deal still to come.

In Act One, guilds have minimal functionality. Guilds can be created, using a Guild NFT. The person holding the NFT is the de facto guild leader. Creating the guild does not burn the guild token, so if the guild leader decides to shutter the guild, it is as simple as selling the guild token.

The guild leader can then accept Commanders that apply to the guild. Once the guild fills, Commanders will not be able to apply to the guild any longer. The guild leader can assign positions within the guild by clicking on a member’s avatar and selecting the ‘appoint’ option. This is also where the guild leader can dismiss members by selecting ‘remove member.’ There are 5 positions in the guild, in addition to guild leader, which cannot be transferred to another member without transferring the guild token NFT. The five positions are:

Vice-leader – Manages membership applications and assists in the managing of the guild

Elder – Assists in handing basic guild affairs

Elite – Senior membership, a symbol of honor

Warrior – Standard membership, the backbone of the guild

Member – Junior guild membership

Guild members are able to contribute to the guild on a daily basis. There are three contribution levels:

It is important to remember that every member can contribute only once. Members cannot select multiple contribution levels.

Guild contribution does two things at this time. It contributes guild experience towards leveling up the guild, and it provides honor, which can be used in the guild store. At this time the guild store contains summoning stones, material chests, and gear chests. Every member’s level of total contribution can be seen on the member list. Using the tabs at the top of the screen, the member’s merit can be switched between total and weekly.

By clicking the guild banner in the upper left, the guild leader can add a brief guild introduction, rename the guild for a small fee in rubies, and change the appearance of the guild flag.

All in all, though, there is not a whole lot that can be done with guilds at this time. That is changing, however, on June 26th, 2024 with the introduction of act two.

Elements Coming in Act Two

Act Two will heavily focus on the social elements of the game, and that revolves around guilds.

Cooperative gameplay features are going to be added to guilds, including raids, leaderboards, artifact crafting, and auctions. Guild members will be able to come together to face new challenges, earn new rewards, and climb new leaderboards. Guild members will be able to come together and dominate together!

Different Types of Guilds

Guild NFTs come in four flavors, with various initial member limits (which increase with guild level), and each guild will tax guild revenue and provide that revenue to the guild leader.

Adventurers Guild: 20 initial members, 1% to the guild leader

Warriors Guild: 30 initial members, 2.5% to the guild leader

Legends Guild: 40 initial members, 5% to the guild leader

Mythic Guild: 50 initial members, 10% to the guild leader

The larger the guild a Commander joins, the more guild members to join with in the cooperative features and the more competitive the team can be, but more of the guild revenue filters to the guild leader and less to guild members.

Why the Time to Join is Now

With so little of the guild functionality currently available, why try to join a guild now?

These are the players that you will be adventuring through Elderym with. Find your people and start building those relationships. Build the guild together through guild donations.

Remember, too that guild NFTs are very limited-- there are only so many guild spots to go around. With guilds taking a center stage with Act Two, failing to be in a guild will lock players out of several activities. Any guilds with open positions will have to be, by necessity, selective.

So find a guild that aligns with your goals and what you want to do in game and join up! Your adventure through Elderym will be highly influenced by your decision!

See you in Elderym!
