Guild of Guardians is the exciting upcoming mobile game that will revolutionize the world of gaming as we now know it. With a stated mission of disrupting the gaming industry, Guild of Guardians is positioning itself to make a huge impact.
For a while now, members of the Guild of Guardians community have been anticipating the announcement of the Guild of Guardians token- GEMs. But far from being a passive token without a a clear-cut use case, GEMs already have a place in the game’s ecosystem.

Minting NFTs
Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are a big deal in the Crypto community, and everyone seems to want to get their hands on them. Guild of Guardians is really diving into the future potential of NFT gaming by minting NFTs on Immutable X. Whenever a player mints a new NFT to the blockchain, they are going to power the process by using GEMs.
In Guild of Guardians, you can merge several heroes of the same rarity to create a new hero of a higher rarity. This will create a new NFT on the blockchain, rewarding the player with a new, tradeable, asset. In order to merge heroes, GEMs must be consumed to ‘pay’ for the minting.
Crafting is a major part of Guild of Guardians and I have discussed it in more detail here. Among the resources guilds will gather and contribute to craft are GEMs. This will power and ‘pay’ for the creation of a new NFT on the blockchain that will then be sent to the market for sale.
Heroes in Guild of Guardians can be improved in many ways. Leveling them, merging them to create new heroes, and ascension. Ascension will increase the heroes maximum level cap and make them potentially more powerful. This will alter the NFT permanently, and therefore requires GEMs to make the change on the blockchain asset.
Important to note, with each minting of an asset, the GEM cost to mint will increase, making each additional NFT a little more expensive to create, adding value to early movers. All GEMs spent in minting will be moved to a rewards pool to be distributed back to active players.
Buying Assets
Guild of Guardian assets will be available through primary sales. Whenever an asset is purchased in this way, 20% of the purchase price must be paid for in GEMs. This will also contribute 20% of the Gems back into the rewards pool.
But what if I want to buy something but don’t have the GEMs?
Behold the power of the crypto markets! You can purchase the assets in a single transaction even without the GEMs, your purchase will utilize a DEX to purchase GEMs automatically and then those GEMs will be moved to the rewards pool.
Rewards Pool
I’ve mentioned the rewards pool a few times now, but what is it and how will it work?
The GEMs that move into the rewards pool will be redistributed to active players through “active staking.” Players must stake their GEMs and actively participate in the game in order to draw the rewards from this pool. There are two stages to this process that require player activity:
Stage 1: Vote and Stake
Players must stake their GEMs and vote on important community proposals in this stage in order to earn from the rewards pool. The amount of the rewards in this stage will be proportional to the amount of GEMs staked.
Stage 2: Play and Stake
This is the longer-term goal- to distribute GEM rewards to players that are playing the game, and not as a reward for voting. In this stage, GEMs must also be staked to earn rewards and the rewards will be proportional to the amount staked. In order to qualify as ‘playing the game,’ a specific amount of activity must occur in game, TBD.
Voting and Governance
In this fourth and final (for now) use-case, GEMs will be useful as a governance token. One of the goals of Guild of Guardians is to become more and more decentralized and allow players to control the direction of the game. Through the use of GEMs as a governance token players will eventually be able to vote on such things as setting staking incentives and GEM costs.
Guild Of Guardians is a mobile RPG that will allow players to turn their gaming passions into assets. It will be a multiplayer, fantasy, action RPG where players build their dream team of ‘Guardians’ and compete in a guild to earn epic rewards.
