Guild of Guardians is going to revolutionize blockchain gaming and disrupt the gaming industry as it now stands. Being in a guild, as the name of the game suggests, will be central to some of the fundamental aspects of the game, one of which is crafting. Guild crafting will be the only crafting system in the game.

Crafting, why is it important?
When grinding in a dungeon it will be possible to gather pieces of gear, however, the gear you find in dungeons will be of common quality. That means that if you want better gear, the only way to acquire it will be in the market, through the guild crafting function. When a guild crafts a piece of equipment, it will be automatically sent to the market and sold.
Automatically? So I can't keep crafted gear?
No single player crafts gear. Crafting is done by the guild and all not-common equipment will be created this way. It will be automatically sent to the market and sold. The gear will not be kept by the guild. The revenue generated from the sale is distributed back to the guild members who assisted in the crafting of the item.
How will crafting be directed in a guild?
The guild leader or other assigned guild members will set the crafting project that the guild will be working toward. In this way, they will direct the guild's efforts and determine what will be crafted. Guild members will run dungeons and gather the materials used in the crafting process, they will then contribute to the guild project and participate in the crafting. This will prevent idle guild members from being able to freeload in a guild and earn profits from crafting.
How is the price of a crafted item determined in the market? If it is automatic, how is it determined?
The game will use an internal algorithm to determine an appropriate sale price. While details are currently few, the expectation is that the price of a new item on the market will be higher than the last selling price with subsequent pieces of the same gear being priced slightly lower, thus creating a situation in which the algorithm seeks and establishes the market-determined price.
How important is being in a guild and taking part in guild crafting?
While guild crafting is a core game mechanic, it is only one way that you can play the game and earn within it. Players that are not in a guild will still be able to access a large portion of the game mechanics and other ways to earn within the game. Crafting is an important way to play and earn, but not the only path for players.
Final Thoughts
While it may seem odd that a guild cannot keep the items it crafts through guild crafting, it is my opinion that this is an important and appropriate game mechanic. Keeping Guild of Guardians free to play and not pay to win means that the internal game economy needs to be vibrant and facilitate exchange between players. By making it so every item goes through the market, it means there will always be items for sale and players looking to purchase them-- there is no other way to gain them. This fosters a true play and earn environment.
