Tuesday was a pretty interesting day for me. I believe that for those who like Hive games and are up to date with Splinterlands, you will have noticed that there has been a considerable increase in the value of SPS. Well, I have a sensational story in Hive of not being able to take advantage of the opportunities that appear when they are related to the games and this time, it was very different since I was able to take advantage of this value and exchange SPS for the Hive token and DEC.
In these moments, it's nice to have friends to talk to and better understand what we can do in a period of high value of a token. In this case, @coyotelation helped me a lot by exchanging some ideas and he even said that a way to maintain a more sustainable way was to take part of the SPS and exchange it for DEC. That way, I could use this DEC for future rentals.

By unstaking all of my SPS (not that I'm going to get rid of everything), the 4 payments were divided into drops of 6,455 SPS. With that, on Tuesday of this week I was able to convert part of this SPS to get 200 Hive that will be used to do a Power Up on May 1st. Along with that, I've been doing the daily PU since the beginning of this month and by all indications, I'll be able to finish my first monthly PU challenge!
With another part, I got exactly 30,000 DEC, which will help me with the rentals of cards and SPS, which I was super excited to earn more of, so I made sure to rent 100k and make the most of this rental period to earn more SPS, just thinking about the future.
The cool thing is that in all this fun, I still had about 27 Hive left over in L2, to add some values to pools or, if I need to buy something, it's always good to have a reserve to take advantage of any opportunity that may arise. Usually I end up investing everything and end up with nothing, so this time I wanted to leave it there to be able to take advantage of it in case something comes up.
Now, one detail, at the time I wrote this post, the same SPS value dropped a lot. On Tuesday, the same 6,455 SPS was hitting somewhere around 350 to 370 Hive, I don't remember exactly, but now the value has plummeted to:
So yes, this time the gaming underdog managed to seize the best moment with a gaming token. Even though I've been quite disappointed with Splinterlands in the last few months (this feeling wasn't just mine), the hype of a new expansion is always incredible. With all this, I've learned that maybe that's how it works, at least with Splinter, where we play, enjoy the game and accumulate as much as possible, waiting until the next expansion, when things move and we make some profit.
That was the impression I had, so I live and learn, now I'm going to try to collect as much SPS as possible and try to get excited about everything again, we have a lot of new things and I confess that I'm super excited about it. Maybe I won't invest much, but I'll keep playing and enjoying the process.
Getting 200 Hive to perform Power Up is amazing for me, after so much time just playing (it's been a while since I posted about Splinterlands) it was good to finally be able to get something out and invest it elsewhere in the Hive, which in this case is in my HP, since my main goal is to reach 20k by the end of the year.
This leads me to believe that I can still have some hope with Rising Star or Terracore, games that also have their respective tokens with reduced value, but that can have a turnaround at any moment.
After reinvesting so much, it's nice to be able to take something from a Hive game and use it to accomplish some other goal. I think focusing on evolving a game is great, but having the freedom and value of its assets to apply elsewhere shows the full power of a web3 game.
