It’s insane—that’s all I can say about the community support for Hive Grove. I’m happy that so many people have paid attention and are contributing to building something that keeps getting bigger and better.
I know many people have provided feedback and contributions, but I have to give a special shout-out to @beelzael for everything he’s done, offering great tips and cool ideas to help us focus even more on interaction and communication.
The last update was about the Campfire—a space where we could chat and interact more directly. Even though version 1.0 didn't turn out exactly as he envisioned, my commitment is to make it happen and put the ideas the community shares with me into practice! That’s why I can say I’m already rolling out a "version 2.0" of Campfire—one that truly embodies the original vision. Campfire will operate based on "topics," which serve as the top-level message for a container or post; from there, all interactions are grouped by these topics to make navigation and engagement easier for everyone!
This approach makes things more organized and simplifies discussions on specific subjects—whether in-game or out—which is going to be great. I’m really excited about this concept and how it’s being implemented. We might still need to tweak a few things here and there, but either way, Hive Grove is shaping up to be awesome!
As you can see, the initial idea involves separating content by topic; within that topic, we can chat, discuss ideas, share memes or images—whatever you decide. Of course, the usual rules apply: remain respectful in your language and avoid sharing content that wouldn't be acceptable anywhere else. You know what I mean.
When you reply to a created topic, the response frame appears at the same level. As people start conversing with one another, a link is established between the parent and child comments, making it easy to track who you’re talking to. The goal is to get as close as possible to a chat experience—almost real-time—so you can easily converse with your friends.
I believe there is great potential for new features and implementations in Campfire. For instance, you could share a specific "wish item" you need directly as a topic, making it easier for others to see what you're looking for. I also think the "flag" feature could be used to create a topic asking people to focus on helping a specific tree.
Another idea that could work well is the ability to share once via the "Snaps" feature here on Peakd, and then share achievements or similar updates directly within Campfire; this would certainly encourage people to chat and connect with one another even more.
Plus a few other things:
- As a topic receives more interactions, its color changes to make it stand out.
- You can now paste images using Ctrl + V, just like on Peakd and other social networks.
- In the "Network" tab, the "Who to Follow" results now include links to Grove profiles that open directly here on Peakd.
The work never stops! This is just the beginning of a new feature I'm implementing, and there is certainly more to come. I hope you enjoy it, use it, and share your feedback with me!
